The television session

Television session is closing Two decades ago, it was very easy to describe the French audio-visual landscape becuase there were three state owned television stations; TF1, Antenne 2 and FR3. The creation of Canal Plus, backed with the launch of La 5 constituted the first bold attempts in the modification of the French television marketplace. Today, there are 14 television stations in France, and as we are sliding to the month of July and the session is running to an end, throughtout the next eight weeks most stations will be running a repeat of their best programs and tv producers will be getting the green lights concerning their proposals for the next session. Whatever might be the case, the most important development in the world of television is the advent of television over the internet. People now talk of "triple play" in the choice of their internet service provider and the most important factor is the choice of any of the following tv devices: Cinergy T2 Metronic Zapbox HD 20 Sagem ITD65 Siemens gigaset M740 Visiosat TVT 300 Finally if you ever tried to watch the television on the internet what are your impressions?

National newspapers

Libération: opens a new chapter in the history of French journalism Libération, the French national newspaper, established by a group of left wing intellectuals and journalists in 1973 is undergoing restructuring. There is no doubt. Libé remains the favorite daily of forward looking professionals on both sides of the political spectrum. Since, the newspaper was launched every phase of its restructuring program was marked with the arrival of a new investor. For the past few weeks those familiar with the economic conditions of the newspaper(dwindling advertisement revenues, fall in circulation and the strategy of the new investor-Edouard de Rothschild) say that a departure of the managing editor is one of the restructuring options proposed by the investment banker. Therefore, if the new investor insists on implementing his investment strategy, the exit of the managing editor, who was behind the growth of the newspaper since, it was founded will surely open, another chapter in the history of this newspaper. Do you agree?
